Recently George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle met with students and staff at Treleigh School for World Book Day.

World Book Day is a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries across the world. Reading is an important skill for everyone and it can often open up our minds to exciting new worlds. Both children and staff took the time to dress up as their favourite book characters with the Harry Potter novels proving popular.

Writing in today's Daily Telegraph George Eustice called for parliament to have the courage to walk out of negotiations and leave the EU on time. Below is the text of the article:

Greenland is not the world's fifth largest economy, nor a member of the G7, nor home to the financial capital of the world. However, they did vote to leave the EU in 1982, they did respect the result of that referendum and they did conclude a withdrawal agreement within two years and then they left.

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle recently took the time to congratulate the Guild of Hospital Friends for Camborne-Redruth Community Hospital on their 70th birthday. 

For over 70 years, the Guild of Hospital Friends, have been providing support to the local Community Hospital and purchasing hospital equipment that helps patients. They provide an invaluable service and recently came together to celebrate the great work that they do.

Finn's Law

Last Friday, in his role as a Defra Minister, George Eustice MP, was responsible for helping to support one of these Private Members Bills. The Bill has been introduced by the Hertfordshire MP, Oliver Heald and has been dubbed "Finn’s Law". It has the support of the government and last Friday gained the support of the House of Commons and now moves to the next stages in the House of Lords.

George Eustice, local MP  for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle recently met Amanda Stratford, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Cornwall to discuss a number of issues relating to health care. 

With the NHS Long Term Plan and the Government’s proposals for social care both due to be published before the end of the year, this is a very important time for health and social care. These latest changes will significantly alter the way people use local hospitals, GPs and care services.

George Eustice, Local MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, recently attended the National Energy Action Heat Heroes awards event to hear about the great work that is being done locally to help those who are vulnerable and suffer from fuel poverty.

At the event, George met Karen Leach, Energy Wise Caseworker at Community Energy Plus who has done some fantastic work helping vulnerable people in the constituency.
