George welcomes funding boost for Redruth’s highstreets

Redruth’s shops and highstreets will benefit from a major funding boost after the Government announced historic English shopping centres will be boosted by a £95 million regeneration fund.

Redruth was one of 69 pioneer towns selected by the government to help level up towns across the country. The projects will be aimed at turning disused buildings into shops, houses and community centres helping to breathe new life into our high streets.

Camborne is set to receive up to £25 million in funding to assist with its economic regeneration as part of a wider Towns fund to help level up towns across the country.

Camborne was selected as one of 100 pioneer towns, with communities, businesses and local leaders now joining forces to draw up ambitious plans to transform their town’s economic growth prospects with a focus on improved transport, broadband connectivity, skills and culture.

George welcomes £400 million investment for 16-19 year olds' education

George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth, has today welcomed news that providers of 16-19 education such as further education and sixth from colleges will receive £400 million additional funding to train and teach our young people the skills they need for jobs in the modern economy. 

The cash boost is the single biggest annual increase for the sector since 2010 and will help ensure that Cornish pupils across the county will receive the support they need. 

Government kickstarts office for Veterans' Affairs

George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth, has today welcomed the news that the Government has committed itself to tackling the challenges faced by our nation's proud veterans by securing a £5 million funding boost in this week's spending round. 

The cash boost will fund additional staff and resources so that the newly-established Office for Veterans' Affairs (OVA) can drive cross-Whitehall action to support veterans' welfare.

Search and rescue team in Hayle receives funding boost
