This weekend is expected to see the end of the disruption that has hit train services in Cornwall.
Thousands of passengers have been switched to buses to get any farther than Truro since Saturday (February 15) and timetables have also been altered for extensive works to be carried out.
Network Rail has been waterproofing Hayle Viaduct and relaying track on the St Ives branch line and at Redruth, Hayle and through Camborne station.
GWR announced a number of effects, including no trains running beyond Truro, with a bus replacement service in place. Buses were also replacing the St Erth to St Ives branch line until today.
Passengers were warned that trains will be running late. Main line services will be affected through Sunday (February 23).
It said: "To help provide a more reliable infrastructure to run our new timetable, Network Rail will be carrying out waterproofing work to Hayle Viaduct between Saturday 15 and Sunday 23 February 2020. They will also use this time to relay track on the St Ives Bay Line as well as through Camborne station."
Mark Chorley, GWR regional station manager, said: "Since the introduction of our brand-new timetable in December, we have been running more trains with greater capacity and improved reliability across the South West.
"Brand-new Intercity Express Trains, specifically designed for Devon and Cornwall, plus the electrification of the track in the Newbury area, have helped bring 24% more seats than before with journeys to London up to 14 minutes quicker.
"This work is important to ensure we continue to improve the reliability of the service and we thank customers for their patience in advance."
Scott Pillinger, Network Rail’s programme manager, said: "We thank passengers in advance while we carry out these vital upgrades across Cornwall and remind them to check before they travel.
"The improvements will help provide passengers with more reliable journeys and represents further investment in the railway in Cornwall following recent signalling upgrades in the South West."
