THE ROTARY CLUB OF HAYLE:

The Hayle round of the Rotary International Youth Speaks competition was held Friday evening at Hayle Day Care Centre. Teams from Gwinear Community Primary School and Penpol Primary School performed at a very high standard of public speaking.  In the closest competition for years Gwinear with Phoeba, Tristan and Emily speaking on the subject "Is it possible to live without a mobile phone?" proved to be the narrow victors and collected the silverware with an amusing and well planned delivery.  Penpol represented by Kitty, Lola and Delilah speaking powerfully on "Solution, not Pollution" and the choice of "The Gender Pay Gap" the thought provoking subject presented by Coral, Josephine and Erin were the joint runners up.  Gwinear will now represent the town of Hayle and District in the next round to be held at Penwith College.

Hayle Rotary also provides support to schools with other Youth Competitions such as Young Writer, Young Photographer and Young Musician. Open to 7 - 18 year olds.  If anyone is interested in any of the competitions ask your school to contact the Rotary Club of Hayle for details.
