A WOMAN has died and three other people injured after a three-car collision in West Cornwall.

The collision occurred on the A30 at Loggans, near Hayle and involved a Renault Clio, Renault Twingo and a Hyundai i20.

The driver of the Twingo, a woman in her thirties from the Penzance area, was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the driver of the Clio, a man in his 20s from the Falmouth area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The two occupants of the Hyundai received minor injuries.

The road was closed overnight whilst an investigation was carried out. The scene is now clear, and the road reopened at around 7:15am today, Friday, July 28.

Police are now asking the public for information regarding the incident and are specifically interested in anyone who may have relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at around 7:25pm on Thursday 27 July following reports of a collision having taken place on the A30 at Loggans, near Hayle.

"The collision involved a Renault Clio, Renault Twingo and a Hyundai i20.

"The driver of the Clio is a man in his 20s from the Falmouth area; he sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

"The driver of the Twingo is a woman in her thirties from the Penzance area, and despite the best efforts of responders, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Her next of kin have been informed.

"The two occupants of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries.

"The road was closed overnight whilst an investigation was carried out at the scene. The scene is now clear, and the road reopened at around 7:15am today, Friday 28 July.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed.
