Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel to discuss Hayle Marine Renewables Energy Park and a greater voice for local communities
TranslateResidents of the Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel area are invited to attend the March meeting of the Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel. Items on the agenda include the Hayle Marine Renewables Energy Park, volunteering, Community Chest Grants and strengthening community networks.
All are invited to attend the Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel meeting which takes place on Monday 5 March between 6:30pm and 8pm at the Passmore Edwards Institute in Hayle.
There will be a briefing on Cornwall Council’s Cabinet decision of 6 September to strengthen engagement with local communities and give them a greater voice through Community Network Panels. The briefing from Edwina Hannaford, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, will include information on how panels can have more of a say on important local issues
Also on the agenda is a presentation from Matt Hodson, the Marine Hub Operations Director, about the Hayle Marine Renewables Energy Park and an update about volunteering in partnership with Cormac by Danny Konik, Cormac Community Partnership Officer.
Also on the agenda is a presentation from Tamsin Erikson, from the Hayle Day Centre, about the Day Centre and how they have used their Cornwall Councillor Community Chest Grant to fund the work they do in the local community.
Following the presentations there will be an opportunity for local residents to ask any questions they may have.
Cornwall Councillor Pascoe, Chair of the Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel, said: “All are invited to attend the March meeting of the Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel. These meetings are a great opportunity to feedback your views and be informed about local decisions so please do come along if you would like to be involved.”
The Hayle and St Ives Community Network Panel meets quarterly to discuss matters that affect the local community and to agree priorities that can be delivered by Cornwall Council and other agencies including the police and health services. Some of the areas that community networks focus on include anti-social behaviour, economic development, the environment, community planning, regeneration, conservation, community safety, transport and highway issues.
The panel comprises all six Cornwall Councillors for the area and representatives of the five parishes in the Hayle and St Ives Community Network - Gwinear-Gwithian and St Erth, Hayle North, Hayle South, Lelant and Carbis Bay, St Ives North and St Ives South.
More information about the Community Network Panels and dates for future meetings can be found on the Cornwall Council Community Networks webpage.
